PISLM VACANCY – National Land Use Policy Consultant – Belize

The position of National Land Use Policy Consultant is to review, draft, and finalize a National Land Use Policy for Belize. The consultant will ensure alignment with national development priorities and contemporary land use issues.

The main objectives of the National Land Use Policy Consultant position are to:

*Review, draft, and finalize a National Land Use Policy for Belize that aligns with national development priorities and contemporary land use issues.

*Ensure government commitment and stakeholder buy-in through a participatory and inclusive process.

*Conduct a comprehensive review of existing policy documents and engage with stakeholders and key agencies.

*Lead review sessions with the Land Use Policy Task Force and finalize the policy document

*Participate in stakeholder consultations and prepare presentations.

*Create an action framework for the implementation of the updated National Land Use Policy.

*Ensure the policy reflects input from the Land Use Policy Review Committee and adopts a gender-sensitive approach.

Overall, the objective is to provide technical expertise and guidance to the Ministry of Natural Resources, Petroleum and Mining in updating and finalizing the National Land Use Policy for Belize to address existing land use challenges and align with national priorities and global commitments.
