Saint Lucia – LDN Report

Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) has been defined by the Parties to the Convention as:  A state whereby the amount and quality of land resources, necessary to support ecosystem functions and services and enhance food security, remains stable or increases within specified temporal and spatial scales and ecosystems.
The Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) concept has been developed to encourage implementation of an optimal mix of measures designed to avoid, reduce, and/or reverse land degradation in order to achieve a state of no net loss of healthy and productive land.
At the core of LDN are better land management practices and better land use planning that will improve economic, social and ecological sustainability for present and future generations.To date, over 120 countries have engaged with the LDN Target Setting Programme and considerable progress has been made since the 2030 Agenda was adopted in 2015.
