GEORGETOWN GUYANA, JULY 8, 2024 – The Partnership Initiative for Sustainable Land
Management (PISLM), is supporting the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and
the Ministry of the Environment in Haiti to strengthen its National Institutions as part of efforts to
meet transparency requirements for the Paris Agreements. While PISLM continues to support Haiti
through the inclusion in two projects: the GEF-funded CSIDS-SOILCARE project and the
Caribbean LDN transformative project.
Martina Duncan, the lead consultant for the PISLM led a mission to the country from July 1-4,
2024, delivering a training to a cohort of national professionals as part of the Capacity building
Initiative for Transparency (CBIT) project.
“This training allows us to build the capacity of national professionals to monitor and track the
implementation of the climate change goals of Haiti, ” explained Jean Idonal Caze-CBIT-HAITI,
Project Manager.
PISLM is the consulting firm responsible for delivering this project that is helping Haiti in
developing policies and technical capacities for national Monitoring, Reporting, Verification
(MRV) of Green House Gas (GHG) emissions, enhancing technical capacities for Monitoring and
Evaluation systems on adaptation and promoting project learning, Monitoring and Evaluation, and
the dissemination of good practices.
This training is expected assist key Departments in Haiti with monitoring the implementation of
their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and National Adaptation Plans (NAPs); it is
crucial for Haiti to meet the transparency requirements outlined in the Paris Agreement, thereby
contributing to global efforts to combat climate change.

GEORGETOWN GUYANE, 25 JUIN 2024 – L’Initiative de Partenariat pour la Gestion Durable
des Terres (PISLM), soutient le Programme des Nations Unies pour le Développement (PNUD)
et le Ministère de l’Environnement d’Haïti pour renforcer ses institutions nationales dans le cadre
des efforts visant à répondre aux exigences de transparence pour les Accords de Paris. Tandis
que le PISLM continue de soutenir Haïti à travers son inclusion dans deux projets : le projet
CSIDS-SOILCARE financé par le FEM et le projet de transformation Caribbean LDN.
Martina Duncan, consultante principale du PISLM, devrait diriger une mission dans le pays du
1er au 4 juillet 2024, pour dispenser une formation à une cohorte de professionnels nationaux
dans le cadre du projet Initiative de renforcement des capacités pour la transparence (CBIT).
Cette formation nous permet de renforcer la capacité des professionnels nationaux à surveiller
et suivre la mise en œuvre des objectifs de changement climatique d’Haïti », a expliqué Jean
Idonal Caze-CBIT-HAITI, Chef de projet.
PISLM est la société de conseil responsable de la réalisation de ce projet qui aide Haïti à
développer des politiques et des capacités techniques pour le suivi, le rapport et la vérification
(MRV) nationaux des émissions de gaz à effet de serre (GES), en renforçant les capacités
techniques des systèmes de suivi et d’évaluation sur l’adaptation et promouvoir l’apprentissage
par projet, le suivi et l’évaluation, ainsi que la diffusion des bonnes pratiques.
Cette formation devrait aider les principaux départements d’Haïti à surveiller la mise en œuvre de
leurs contributions déterminées au niveau national (NDC) et de leurs plans nationaux
d’adaptation (PAN) ; il est crucial qu’Haïti réponde aux exigences de transparence énoncées dans
l’Accord de Paris, contribuant ainsi aux efforts mondiaux de lutte contre le changement
climatique.
