ST.GEORGE’S GRENADA, MARCH 25,2025-Outgoing Executive Director of the Partnership Initiative for Sustainable Land Management-Mr. Calvin James, paid a courtesy call to the Hon. Vaughn P.Miller- Minister of the Environment and Natural Resources on Monday 21st,2025.
James who leads the regional Inter-Governmental Organisation (IGO), that focuses on advancing sustainable soil and land management and reducing land degradation across Caribbean Small Island Developing States (CSIDS) highlighted the deepening of regional sustainability and integrated land management, as he engaged Hon. Vaughn P.Miller.
The discussions also covered key updates on major initiatives supported under PISLM, including the upcoming PISLM Ministerial Council Meeting to be held in Grenada in June, and status reports on the Soil Care Phase 1 project, the Caribbean Transformative Project, and the Caribbean Drought Initiative.
Minister Miller expressed The Bahamas’ appreciation for Mr. James’ leadership and vision, which have significantly advanced the shared regional agenda on environmental resilience. Mr. James, in turn, conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to The Bahamas for its unwavering support and active role in the success of PISLM’s initiatives.
As Mr. James prepares for his retirement, PISLM reaffirms its commitment to advancing regional partnerships with the Caribbean, towards a resilient and sustainable future for our people.
