EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR PAYS COURTESY CALL ON THE MINISTER OF FISHERIES MARINE AND LAND CONSERVATION AND THE MINISTER CLIMATE RESILIENCE AND AGRICULTURE, FORESTRY AND RURAL TRANSFORMATION

KINGSTOWN, ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES, JANUARY 7, 2026-  Executive Director for the Partnership Initiative for Sustainable Land Management (PISLM), Dr. Ronen C.A Francis concluded a high-level courtesy call on the country’s  Minister of Fisheries, Marine and Land Conservation and Climate Resilience, Conroy Huggins, and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Transformation, Israel Bruce, on Monday, 5th January 2025.

The meeting included high-level discussions focused on the advancement of the regional Land Degradation agenda, strengthening of inter-ministerial collaboration, and ongoing and soon-to-be-launched regional projects such as Phase II of the CSIDS SOILCARE Project, which St. Vincent and the Grenadines is a part of. It also focused on the other regional projects, such as the Caribbean Drought Initiative and the Caribbean Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) Transformative Project.

“We are satisfied with the discussions in St. Vincent and believe we can help to transform our degraded landscapes,” Dr. Francis noted.

The Partnership Initiative for Sustainable Land Management (PISLM) received formal reassurances from both ministers of their continued commitment to work alongside the Intergovernmental Organisaton to attain Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
